Where do I wear the waistbad?

This is easily the biggest mistake I see in the wild with people using carriers.

Your baby must have their head high up on your chest and they must be squatting. This cannot happen if the waistband is lower on your torso and you're carrying a tiny baby.

Raise your waistband to under your bust or mid torso if you dont have a bust!
